Why Now, Why This Region

A model Haiti has already proven. A region that hasn't had the chance yet.

In July 2026, students at a technical agricultural lycée in Grand'Anse completed the first practical baccalauréat exams under Haiti's new Nouvo Segondè reform — proof that a classroom can be a farm, a workshop, and a launchpad for a real trade, all at once. The Central Plateau has never had an institution built on that same model.

Basic dental health education is taught as part of this curriculum, not as a separate program — connecting every graduate to HIES's community dental and heart-health work, with a supervised pathway into further study for students drawn to it.

The Teaching Farm

A working farm, not a classroom that talks about farming.

Every domain above has a physical home on campus. The farm is a living classroom, an applied research station, and a regional service provider — offering plowing, soil testing, and shared tools to neighboring farmers from day one.

HIES has formally proposed to Haiti's Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) that this campus serve every school in the Central Plateau that lacks comparable resources — transforming a land request into an investment in the region's whole education system.
